Sino-Nepal relations enter to new era: President Bhandari

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that the bilateral relations between Nepal and China have entered into a new era from the state visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to Nepal.

President Bhandari via twitter today has extended her gratefulness to the President Xi for his warm goodwill shown to Nepal and Nepali people. President Xi Jinping, who arrived here on the two-day state visit on Saturday afternoon was given grand farewell today.

Chinese cooperation will increase in Nepal’s prosperity: NCP Chair Dahal
Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed the confidence that the cooperation of the Chinese government and the Communist Party of China will further increase for Nepal’s prosperity in the coming days.

During his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping this morning, NCP chair Dahal recalled his visit to China during his first Prime Ministerial term, the succeeding visits and meeting held in Goa.

The Chinese President was on a two-day state visit to Nepal at the friendly invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari. He left for China on conclusion of the visit few hours back.

In the meeting with the Chinese President, Chairman Dahal expressed gratitude for the assistance and goodwill extended by the CPC and the Government of the People’s Republic of China to Nepal and the Nepalis, Dahal’s secretariat stated.

NCP chair Dahal on the occasion said that he felt proud to get a neighbour like China and also expressed commitment to developing the mutual relations between the two communist parties at a new level by sharing experiences with each other.

President Xi maintained that a new era has started in the relations between Nepal and China after Chairman Dahal signed on the BRI. He added that stress should be laid on the selection of projects and their implementation for the benefit of both countries and peoples by determining the timeframe.

The Chinese President said political stability could not be achieved without development and that a prosperous China was an opportunity for Nepal.

He also laid emphasis on preparing a common programme for the exchange of experiences between the two parties. Saying the Nepali people have liked the communist party from their heart, he pledged for support for making the ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ campaign successful.

“The economic development of the country is the main thing and the people’s hearts can be won through development,” President Xi expressed in the discussions. He said ideology is a big thing for a communist party and stressed on the need of further strengthening it.

NCP secretariat members were also present during the meeting between President Xi and Chairman Dahal.
